Let Evening Come
Jane Kenyon Let the light of late afternoon shine through chinks in the barn, moving up the bales as the sun moves down. Let the cricket take up chafing as a woman takes up her needles and her yarn. Let evening come. Let dew collect on the hoe abandoned in long grass. Let the stars appear and the moon disclose her silver horn. Let the fox go back to its sandy den. Let the wind die down. Let the shed go black inside. Let evening come. To the bottle in the ditch, to the scoop in the oats, to air in the lung let evening come. Let it come, as it will, and don't be afraid. God does not leave us comfortless, so let evening come. **** To the farm, to the fox, to the hoe and the scoop inside. Time to rest. Evening's come. <3 Drinking up the raindrops.
Letting them wash away what has bubbled to the surface Making space for even more good newness, Letting them heal me from the inside out. Forgiving myself. Letting go. Flying along with the winds of change. With joy. Feels good. When life is flowing,
just go with it. Not deep, but important none the less. It's one of those sweet, blessing, lightness kind of days, I can feel it. Doing everything I can to hitch my wagon to today's bounty, And dumping all unwanted excess weighing me down to make way for the blessings I'm receiving. Today is a good day for just that. In the realization that we only have so much,
that our cup is only as full as we fill it, It is okay to step back, To say I love you, and I'm sorry, but I don't have anything for you right now. When connection feels inauthentic, when it drains even demeans our inner selves, It's okay to disconnect and wait until you are guided back to connection... if ever. We don't have to be everything to everyone. We don't have to be everything to anyone. Not our partners. Not our children. Not our friends. Not anyone. We don't have to give more than we receive, even though it feels better to give than to receive. That's why it says "It is better to give than to receive." It feels good to give. It also says, "Love your neighbor as yourself." As yourself. The way you love yourself is a model the way you love your neighbor. Remember to take steps back to love yourself for a while Especially in the midst of your giving. The end. Have a beautiful day. As "Twilight drops her curtain down, and pins it with a star." (L.M. Montgomery)
Reminded today that ~the best, most real miracle is life itself. ~the beauty is there to step into. ~everything is sacred that we acknowledge as sacred. ~we navigate our own journey, build our own joy, sculpt our own reality, and it can change in a second. Grounded. Loved. Honored. Committed. Grateful. Aligned. It's so good to come back to this space. Release guilt.
Release tension. Keep your eye on the prize. Heart centered. Joy filled. Embracing. We are all a work in progress. When at wits end
when heartbroken When stretched beyond perceivable limitation In the unknowing In the incomplete journey In the empty space In the presence an old unwanted resurrection In the recognition that some things have been lost Within the acceptance of another's painful choice Stand. You are still whole. You cannot lose yourself. Your truest nature. It's your ally. Step into it, and see what happens. Good things. Drawing as much patience as the earth has for me.
Drawing mustard; Drawing clove. Drawing the desire to connect... Waiting for answers. Still, Listening. It is okay that things are not perfect. The tide is meant to change, I am meant to follow, discern, tread carefully, Wake Up. And this takes time. In the house of Baba Yaga is right where I am meant to be, and sometimes that means trusting the subconscious to do what seems impossible, incomprehensible to the waking mind. To grow true humility. To feel the essence harmony. To understand what it means. To realize it. Permanently. Praying that gentility overflows into your day today, and into mine. Love, Anna P.S. If you want to know more about Baba Yaga, you'll find her in the story of Vasalisa in Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes Winds change and the clouds scatter.
No two days alike. Each with its own vast potential. Sit with yourself and harness the energy of the day. Just breath and pay attention to where you are and who you are today. Your intuition will guide you. Taking a breather to start summer off beautifully and celebrate Amelia's Kindergarten graduation... Have a beautiful day! Anna |
